Welcome to another Wild Wednesday! As I thought about the possible topics I could write about today, one stuck out: Caves. Part of this is due to the fact that I am stoked to go explore the Bloomington caves in Southern Utah next weekend. (Look for a video on that coming soon!) Caves have always scared me, I mean, what about them isn’t scary, right? They’re deep, they’re dark, and no one in their right mind would want to actually go inside one. Or at least you’d think no one would. That is why the thought of going inside one is truly wild.

There are only a few good reasons to actually venture into a hole in the earth, among them are: for science, to satisfy your adventure cravings, or hide your hoard of treasure. Seeing as I am not a scientist, nor do I have a great some of wealth, I’ll bet you can guess the reason for my planning to get into a cave. Adventure. Like I said, caves are scary, I’ve never been very fond of them, but there is something about exploring them (and making it out alive) that makes me feel fantastic. Part of it is the pure exploration, but even more so is the fact that I did a scary thing. Sometimes doing a scary thing is the best thing, it makes you feel really cool, haha.

Alright, enough of my own thoughts, now comes the part where I share some information with you that is both factual and super cool. There are many amazing caves in the world, but one of the coolest I’ve learned of is the Škocjan Cave in Divača, Slovenia. This cave isn’t just a cave, it’s so much more. See, this cave is one of the largest underground canyons in the world! Picture the grand canyon, make it a little smaller, then put it underground, boom. Škocjan Cave. Here is a link more about this majestic place for those of you wanting to know more. For the rest of you, congratulations, you now know something most people don’t! Have a wonderful day!
