Too often we find ourselves looking back at the things we woulda, coulda or shoulda done. We think about what we wish could be doing and then complain about what we are doing. Why? To what benefit does this serve? What goal does it help you achieve? As the poem by Shel Silverstein states:
“All the Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
Layin’ in the sun,
Talkin’ bout the things
They woulda-coulda-shoulda done…
But those Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
All ran away and hid
From one little did.”
If you’re unhappy with the way life is going, do something about it. Don’t just wait around hoping something fun or exciting is going to happen to you. Life is meant to be lived, go out and live it! If you spend all your time looking back at what could’ve been, you are never going to be prepared for what could be in your future.
So, lace up your boots and go somewhere! Adventure is out there! Live the life you want to live, not the one you settled for. You only have one life so use it wisely.
